Feb 21 update

Sorry I missed last week's update. Spend the last two weeks getting the layout and the basement ready for the first test of the layout and the operating plan. On Monday night the session was done. Five operators braved the snow and showed up for the test session. As with any test session there were a few problems. Did not run the new tank cars, over the complete layout after finishing them on Sunday. There was an issue with these cars and the bridge. Then there was coupler height issues, few section of track that when dead and other small issues.

The operation session worked out good, need to made a few adjustments until the crew has spend more time in the three districts learning their finer points. Most of the Turns took longer then I had planned. People had to learn that only one car will fit on the siding, looks like two will but only one will.

Now I have a list of things that I need to work on before the next session in March.

Sorry no pictures, was to busy being Dispatcher, Head of Maintance and spare brakeman.

Feb 5 Updates

Besides the photos of the Yard and Roseton to complete a look at all sections of the White River Southern. There has been a few other things going on. First is the upgrading of the lighting system over Roseton and Dogwood to provide a better, more even lighting for these areas. Trackwork in the Interchange Yard was completed, just the Engine terminal to be done now. Also a few more throttle jacks were installed around the layout.

Next project is to start testing the operating plans for the layout. I am starting with the same style of paper work that was used at Railfest in Summside.
