WRS Northern Sub

Below is a drawing of the proposed Northern Sub of WRS. (Upper level)

Trains will enter the Northern Sub at Meadows from the rest of WRS. This level will be in the range of 60" from the floor, which will mean most of us will require a stool to operate this level. There will a ductunder (60" +-) just past Meadows to allow Crews to move in and out of the layout.

Nice looking plan, Doug. Makes good use of the space. I see no option for roundy-roundy. Will you build that in so when you want to break in a loco you can just let it go? Or just to let a train run when you have visitors?

Will you build it all from scratch or use some of your modules as well?

Some of the present layout will be used. Riverside & Oxbow, rest is new.

It will be point to point since there will also be a lower deck, aka Steve Mc layout. (I will post later in the week)

I will have to look into adding a "bypass" to allow for a break in loop.

Some of the lumber in the modules, will be re-used in the new layout.

I didn't realize how much I liked having a loop until I didn't have one anymore. There is one now, but the crossover that makes the loop is never used during operations.

Don't listen to Scott--don't yield to the temptation to have a roundy roundy layout. Your plan looks very good to me.

I'm not saying build a roundy-roundy, but some provision for continuous running might be a handy thing.
